I don’t watch Jimmy Kimmel. There’s no particular reason that I don’t watch him. I just don’t. I have seen a few clips on youtube though and some of the sketches were funny. The whole Matt Damon, Sarah Silverman thing was quite good. Well, it did deteriorate but it started out well. I just saw this video and I’m not sure if it was funny or if it was interesting just because there were a lot of stars in it but anyway, I’m pretty sure that there will be a ton of HMC t-shirts coming out soon because of it and not surprisingly the first one I found was from Zazzle. Actually I was just about to upload my own version when I found it and as it was better than mine I decided to post about it.

Jake from Busted Tees in Chop Chop tee

Sorry, Jake! Not the most flattering screen capture

Some of you might know that I follow Jake and Amir and as I was watching their latest video today I noticed that Jake was wearing a Chop Shop t-shirt. What’s the problem you make ask? Well, Jake works for College Humor who run Busted Tees. Talk about Busted.

You can get this sweet t-shirt from the Chop Shop Store for only $20.

I admit that I am a GAP fan. Well, I like GAP during the sales and my little girl wears a lot of GAP. I don’t wear so much myself but I have a few pairs of shorts and jeans. Anyway this is a cool video promoting some new money back system.

OK, so most of you have probably seen this already but for the select few who may have missed it here is a pretty cool stop motion video that uses t-shirts to tell a story.

You can buy the actual t-shirts that were worn in the video (Rhett and Link’s sweat is free) or you can get a print on demand version. Read how to order your T-Shirt War t-shirts on Rhett and Link’s web site.

Here is a behind the scenes look at the making of this video.

$10 T-Shirts at Threadless

Not all the t-shirts are $10 but there is a huge selection to choose from. From my count there are over 400 to choose from. Now that, as the boys at Threadless like to say, is awesome. There new campaign is quite fun too. $10 Buck Tony is the used car salesman of t-shirt vendors.

Below are Rude Retro’s picks and remember that if you want a particular shirt don’t wait around as your size may sell out. Also the sale is on for 3 days only (if they don’t extend it).

Afro Samurai Tshirts from Jinks

Afro Samurai at AmazonI haven’t actually seen this movie which is probably rare for someone in my situation. I mean I live in Japan and am a fan of Samuel L. Jackson. On the other hand I am not really into anime and haven’t had a whole lot of free time recently so when I watch a movie it will be live action.

I think this movie got mixed reviews but I am sure it will get cult status at some point if it hasn’t already.

Anyway, this is a tshirt blog, not a blog about movies I haven’t watched yet (now that’s an interesting idea) so I am here to tell you that Jinks are selling four new Afro Samurai t-shirts and they are not bad at all. In about 20 years they may even be the epitome of retro cool but who knows. Check them out and let me know what you think of them below. You might as well tell us what you think about the AFRO Samurai movies too. Convince me to watch them!

Obamao T-Shirts Banned in China

Chinese t-shirt designer created a Obama t-shirt that combined the face of President Barack

Obama with the uniform and classic image of Chairman Mao but when Obama went to China the Chinese authorities shut it down. Some say that they didn’t want Obama depicted as a Communist. (I’m sure FOX News are having a field day with it. The may also be happy about their president’s effigy being burned.)

I have a feeling that Obama wouldn’t mind and would be more pissed off by the fact that there are serious freedom of speech issues in China that selling tees with his mug on them.

Shop Online! It’s safer.

Most of the t-shirts reviewed here are for online shops but I know that even today some people are wary of shopping online as they are worried about the dangers of the internet but this video shows how dangerous it can be shopping in a bricks and mortar store. You may never go out again.

It seems to be some viral marketing attempt by German online retailer Jungstil.

ShirtFight Round 4

Last week the theme of ShirtFight was El Presidente’s Birthday and I had an idea for it myself but no time (and possibly to talent) to execute it. I was going to create a picture of a luche libre robot about to jump off the corner ropes of the wrestling ring. Yeah, probably beyond me. Anyhoo, the winner was Greg Abbot with his imaginative illustration, equally unimaginatively titled El Presidente’s Birthday. Actually the illustration was inspired by the imagination of El Presidente himself. You can check it out below. It is a little strange there was no pic of El Presidente himself wearing it.

It’s on sale at the moment for only $15. I guess it will go up to $21 soon so don’t wait around.

The new ShirtFight theme has been launched and it is a sweet one. I hope it will inspire some great designs as the last one did. The theme is subliminal and you are encouraged to use glow-in-the-dark ink and discouraged from using text or images of penises in the design. Check out the video below. $500 prize for the winner.

Shirtfight – Who’s king of the ringer?

ShirtFight is a brand new t-shirt competition site that just launched and when I heard I groaned “oh man, not ANOTHER t-shirt design competition site!” Just kidding, the more the merrier. I’d love to say that ShirtFight is a t-shirt contest site with a difference so I think I’ll just go ahead and say it. ShirtFight is a t-shirt contest site with a difference. They all are though. I’m pretty sure no two are identical.

The thing with ShirtFight is that they will have a weekly themed contest and they will pick some wacky off the wall theme like “Eating junk food before going to bed” to inspire designers to create something unique. Now that part I like. This site is actually encouraging designers to create new designs for their contests rather than just using designs that haven’t had success at other sites.I’m sure some of those will turn up too but there is only so much you can do.

This is how it works. On Thursday at midnight, they announce a theme and you have exactly 7 days to create your design, upload it and garner some votes. The voting closes on Thursday at midnight. Yes. You read that right. I think it was very badly thought out too. But who knows, maybe it’ll work?  I would have given them one week to submit the designs  and then one week of voting once they are all submitted. During the voting week there would of course be a another themed contest. The winning tees and the new contest could be announced on the same day. Very exciting! But of course I didn’t get any say in how the site was set up.

They will have weekly cash prizes of $500, but to celebrate their site launch on March 5th, their first contest will be two weeks long…and the winner receives a whopping $2009! You know, coz 2009 is a nice round number. Anyway readers, sorry I’m late in getting this info to you but you still have some time. There are already 74 designs up for voting at the time of writing this post and designs that have been up longer naturally have  a better chance of getting votes but I imagine the votes will count for very little in this contest. Design skills will win out I hope. Of course a design might be chosen based on who designed it…I hope not.

There is a video about the contest which you can check out below but probably best to check out their blog post and web site for more detailed information.
