Coincidental Negative Space Tees
When I saw todays new release from Design by Humans “Shooting Stars by Mr. Davenport” I thought: that looks familiar. In fact it reminded me of yesterdays new release at Threadless “Skydiver” by Enkel Dika and when I saw that t-shirt I thought: that looks familiar. It reminded me of Journey to the City of No Horizon by Tang Yau Hoong. They are all well designed tees and all a similar style but Tang Yau Hoong’s is still my favorite.

Great New Tees at Threadless
It’s Monday (actually Tuesday where I am) so there are some new tees at Threadless and two in particular that caught my attention. The first is So Long, Old World by Tang Yau Hoong which is a very cool image of a city skyline appearing to disintegrate. It works really well on a t-shirt too.
The next tee is by Ellsswhere and was selected to be part of the Select Series.
$10,000 Winner Announced at Design by Humans
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I’ve just been very busy. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the t-shirt world didn’t wait around for me. There has been plenty of activity and I think the announcement of a new winner at Design by Humans DBH10K is big news indeed.
This is a 5th win for Philippines designer, csj89, at Design by Humans and there are surely more to come.
The second place was also taken by a Philippines designer and last years winner Collision Theory. It will be the next t-shirt printed.
Third place went to Tang Yau Hoong for his surreal cityscape. The t-shirt came out very well.

4th place went to The T-Shirt Review favorite; SOS Strawberry by Gloopz.

The t-shirt came out no where near as well as the design. The tee is just too white.

itself Announce First Winner
I mentioned itself before so if you are wondering what the hell it(self) is check out this post. They have recently announced their first winner and it is a pretty cool shirt. It is called More Tape? by Tang Yau Hoong who hails from Malaysia. Congrats on being the first ever winner of the itself t-shirt competition!
As you can see below, the design is a very simple but fun concept and even works as a pattern t-shirt. You better get over there quick if you want to get one though as the first batch is a limited print of only 3000 shirts. LOL. $21 and ships from Turkey I believe.
