Obamao T-Shirts Banned in China
Chinese t-shirt designer created a Obama t-shirt that combined the face of President Barack

Banned in China Oba Mao t-shirts
Obama with the uniform and classic image of Chairman Mao but when Obama went to China the Chinese authorities shut it down. Some say that they didn’t want Obama depicted as a Communist. (I’m sure FOX News are having a field day with it. The may also be happy about their president’s effigy being burned.)
I have a feeling that Obama wouldn’t mind and would be more pissed off by the fact that there are serious freedom of speech issues in China that selling tees with his mug on them.
10 Alternative Mickey Mouse T-Shirts
It took me a while to collect all these Mickey Mouse t-shirts, so long in fact that by the time I get around to posting them some of them are no longer for sale. Anyway, there are still quite a few Mickey Mouse t-shirts that we can actually get excited about.
1. Bukowski at T-Post – OK, so this tee is no longer for sale but I think it is the perfect start to a list of alternative Mickey Mouse T-Shirts.
2. Cute Killer by Gprod at laFraise – Mickey and a few other cute characters get what some may say was coming to them.
3. Crossbones at Badstarz – Well, Mickey is surely no stranger to pirates.
4. AV Mouse at Springleap – As much as I dislike the folks at Springleap I have to admit that this is one of the best alternative Mickey Mouse tees I have ever seen.
5. Mouse at Disturbia – Disturbia just loves Mickey Mouse. This one is a pretty disturbing image in a totally cool way.
6. Mickey at Disturbia – Walt Disney –> Want Disturbia…get it?
7. Fallout at Disturbia – He’s barely recognizable but Mickey is in there.
8. Playmouse at Yes No Maybe – I don’t know how this could happen but…
9. Micky Freak at Coontak – The things people do to poor Mickey Mouse.
10. The Real Mouse Tee at Another Enemy – Mickey has an evil side.
You can also get some pretty awesome officially sanctioned Mickey Mouse tees in the Bloc28 Series. Check out Addict.co.uk.

Disney's Block28 Tees
Color coded criminals T-Shirt
I just noticed this t-shirt is included in the Threadless Classics sale. When I Reservoir Dogs for the first time I was blown away. This was an amazing movie so much so that I saw it twice in the cinema which was a big thing for a student as poor as I was. I was an instant Tarantino fan although now…not so much.
T-Shirt by Loy Valera aka kaloyster is only $12 in the Threadless Classics sale.
$6 Tees from Threadless
From January 6th through 8th Threadless are holding what looks like a clearance sale with many tees going for as little as $6. That is amazing value for a Threadless t-shirt so I wouldn’t waste any time getting over there if I were you. If you are a mens medium you may be disappointed though as there seems to be only one left.
Threadless also released some new t-shirts today and my personal favorite is the Pulp Fiction parody t-shirt called More Pulp by Chris Sharron. I have seen a few Pulp Fiction spoof t-shirts around but this is one of the cutest. I don’t think I could get away with an orange tee though.
As you may have noticed I haven’t been posting as much recently and that is just because my schedule was hectic and I couldn’t spare the time to tell you about the latest in the t-shirt world. I have been keeping my eyes open though and will have lots of great info for you during the week. Below are a couple of shirts that were released at Threadless a while back that I thought were funny/cute and wanted to tell you about. Unfortunately neither of them are included in the sale.
T-Shirts – Batteries Not Included
I have posted about various t-shirts that require batteries (here, here and here) and I have just come across a shop selling tees with a graphic equalizer like function. The designs on these tees react to the sounds around them making the wearer appear to be a total douche bag. They are a bit of fun though. Most of them are spoofs and/or probable copyright infringements but what do I know. Maybe they are legally licensed. Below is a selection from the store. They are all $45 and available from Jetsobox which appears to be based in Asia. you can also check out videos of the various tees reacting to the music.
So when you are going clubbing in one of these babies don’t forget your batteries. Your dignity on the other hand you will leave at home.
Random Shirts in Yokohama’s Chinatown
The other day I had to go into Chinatown (Yokohama – I live in Yokohama) to take a few photos for one of my day jobs and while I was there I snapped a few tees as well. Being Chinatown of course you can expect a few Bruce Lee and a few panda tees and that among others is what I saw. Anyway, I thought I would share.

Bruce Lee T-Shirt in Chinatown

The various emotions of a panda depicted on a shirt.

This shows pandas emotions indicated by the Chinese characters of which I can read but a few. The second from the right on the bottom is drunk panda.

This design, a spoof of Puma's logo was available on many many items. This photo is a hoodie.

This is of course a spoof of Lacoste. Loosely translated it means "turn me over".

I particularly like the chicken and egg t-shirt and how it makes us try to imagine what the chicken is feeling. The pink DOEM M t-shirt: M is for Masochist and the top three characters are the katakana for DO E M. Do means strong. I guess you could translate it as big time masochist. I saw an S t-shirt too.

Both of these tees, like the chicken one above I believe, are from an outfit called Gokigen FACTORY. The left one says O-Hime-sama which means princess and the one the right I am guessing is a very bad translation of In Vino Veritas - In wine is truth.
Bar Trekkin’ T-Shirts Last Days
Fans of Star Trek and spoof t-shirts will be disappointed to hear that these Bar Trekkin’ T-Shirts from Go Ape Shirts are to be pulled from their virtual shelves and never to be sold again. I received an email from the good folk at Go Ape Shirts and was told that they were

forced to pull “Bar Trekkin’” from the store. It will only be available until Wednesday. I guess the suits are trying to protect their franchise.
It’s a fun design that reminds me of the Communist Party by Tom Burns although it is much better in my opinion. The problem I have with both of these tees though is that I don’t think I can pull off a red tee anymore.
Giant List of Star Wars T-Shirts
Filed under: Funny Stuff, Movie T-Shirts, Pop Culture, Zazzle
This list got much longer than I had expected. I started off quite a while ago just bookmarking Star Wars parody t-shirts when I came across them and just before I was about to write this post I decided to check to see if I had missed any good ones and discovered that I had. I also discovered a similar post at Tcritic and admit to grabbing some of those t-shirts too. This seems like a pretty comprehensive list of Star Wars spoof t-shirts but I know there are many more out there so if you know of any just add a link in the comment section and I will update this post if the design is suitable.
There are a huge number of t-shirts at Zazzle which sells officially licensed goods for Star Wars and it would be impossible for me to list them all but if you find one that warrants mention feel free to link to it in the comments.
Star Wars Election Center
Filed under: Funny Stuff, Movie T-Shirts, Political T-Shirts, Zazzle
It is election year and that means that a large no. of election and political t-shirts are being sold. Zazzle along with Star Wars are taking advantage of this fact by putting together a great collection of spoof election gear for Star Wars characters. To be honest I was never a big Star Wars fan, probably one of the few of my generation but these t-shirts are very cool and they are sure to be a hit. If you are going to buy one I’d say buy them now so you can say you were one of the first.
I think that it’s great that this company has decided to go the spoof route because I think that the Star Wars t-shirts that were originally on sale at Zazzle are really only aimed at kids or fanboys. People of all ages would wear these. My favorite so far is the Chewbacca t-shirt but as you can see below the designs are pretty simple vector like images with two to four colors. I have to wonder if they are screen prints.
Two Great New Tees from T-Shirt Hell
To be honest, I have been less than impressed with the new offerings from T-Shirt Hell recently but of course it is all a matter of taste, but today they have released two great new shirts. One of them makes you feel sorry for Richard Gere as the gerbil rumor has resurfaced in the form of a t-shirt and a whole new generation of teens will learn about his alleged misdeeds.
The second is a spoof of both the Flintstones and hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age. No further explanation is needed.
