I haven’t had time to post recently but I have been keeping up on things. One of the big things in the t-shirt industry in the last month or so has been the support for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Here are a collection of t-shirts or sites that are doing their bit.

1. Flying Mouse is contributing all profits from this tee too Unicef.

2. Local Celebrity collaborate with Yele Haiti and 100% of tee profits go there.

3. Threadless are contributing all proceeds (not just profit) from the sale of this tee to The American Red Cross and Haiti Relief and Development Fund. At the time of writing this post they have already sold 7000 of these $10 tees and they plan to sell up to 15,000 more. Awesome!

4. Bungie (makers of video game Halo?) are contributing profits from this t-shirt as well as all online store profits through February directly to the relief efforts in Haiti.

5. Cafepress had a t-shirt designed by Shepard Fairey (which is no longer on sale) as well as designs donated from the community which are still available. Cafepress have already donated $30,000 to the US fund for UNICEF.

6. Storenvy have a selection of beautiful shirts and $8 from each sale will go to the American Red Cross. Lots of designers offered up their designs and they all deserve a shout out but only six were chosen.

7. Blink 182 apparently raised $30,000 for Haiti with this t-shirt but it doesn’t seem to be on sale anymore.

8. Lady Gaga also added her celebrity power to a charity t-shirt with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.

9. ZBQ will donate $6 from every t-shirt sold in their until the end of February which is pretty awesome as they have a great collection of original tees.

Flying Mouse about to take off

Many of you may be familiar with Flying Mouse. He is a prolific designer with extraordinary talent and as evidenced in his designs, originality, imagination and a quirky sense of humor. He has been very successful at Threadless with about 17 prints from his original account (Flying Mouse) and 7 more from his Flying Mouse 365 account. Yes, he has two accounts at Threadless. The second account, Flying Mouse 365 was a challenge that he set himself. The intention is to submit a new design to Threadless every day for  a year. As I write this design 180 has completed scoring.

During this challenge though, he appeared to come to a standstill but this is not because he gave up. Instead he has decided to bypass the competition circuit and produce and sell his own t-shirts. He is practically an institution anyway and has an enormous fan base so why not. It worked for Glenn Jones, it’ll probably work for Flying Mouse too.

The new site will be open on November 11th if all goes according to schedule and the idea is to have a new design featured every day for a full year (hence Flying Mouse 365), and that pretty much means that every week there will be 7 new products available! These 7 new products will be available for a quick pre-sale at a lower price for the entire week (a great reason to visit his store every week) and once the week ends there will be 7 newer products to replace them and so on… They will also have a permanent store that will feature the most-loved products.

I am pretty excited about the launch of this store because Flying Mouse designs are just fun. This is an amazing project when you think about it. A new tee every day for a year. That is similar to what Threadless provides.

Well the store doesn’t open until November 11th as I mentioned but The T-Shirt Review readers are very lucky because Flying Mouse has sent over some previews of what will probably be the first week of t-shirts. Yes, 7 tees. Check them out below.

I realize that this is the first time that I have mentioned Flying Mouse which is a real shame as he is an amazing designer and one of the most prolific too. If you are a fan of Threadless you are probably familiar with his work (Flying Mouse profile at Threadless) and you may even have one of his t-shirts. From what I can see he has had 18 designs printed and hundreds others submitted. This year he created a new Threadless profile called Flying Mouse 365 as part of a personal challenge to submit one design per day for the year. He is doing well.

Anyway he has his own store with some great tees that are all on sale at the moment with some of them going for as little as $5. So don’t wait around. Head on over and get yourself some great value tees that will help you stand out from the crowd. I don’t know when the sale will end but it seems to be a stock clearance sale so grab your tee while you still can.
