Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt

I often thought that it would be nice to have a soundtrack. I guess the idea sprang from watching too many movies and getting my first Walkman. A Walkman (ipod for cassettes for those who are too young to remember) is like a soundtrack except only you can hear it. Also it isn’t that easy to change the tracks. I wanted something more. Music that followed me and reflected my mood at every turn. Like in some Hollywood movies. Well, ThinkGeek have come up with something that is not really close to that dream but it is a bit of fun. They have produced a soundtrack shirt that is basically a t-shirt with a speaker that can play music from its own player or other devices if you connnect them.

I think the tee is stylish enough even though I don’t think I’d wear a speaker on my chest. It is quite a fun idea though and I know its a bit late but it would make a great gift at this time of the year. Below is a video that I guess the guys at ThinkGeek put together to promote the t-shirt.

ThinkGeek do come up with some interesting t-shirts such as a chain mail t-shirt and an Electronic Drum Kit t-shirt. The T-Shirt Review also recently talked about a musical shirt tutorial. I wonder what’s next!

They cost $39.99 (batteries not included).

I came across this video on Joost yesterday. I think it must be really cool to get your t-shirt worn by a celebrity. I know Luis Guzman is not exactly an A-List celebrity but he is one fine actor and I would be happy if he were wearing one of my tees. Click on the image above to buy it at the Zazzle store. I think it is also available at Cafepress but I couldn’t find it. Below is the video from Joost where celebrities including Guzman talk about bad Christmas gifts.

Another Cafepress Video

It’s like Cafepress is Microsoft and the Ungiftables are the Jerry Seinfeld/Bill Gates commercial. They are slowly winning me over. Recently another POD (I’ll tell all in a later post but no, it’s not Zazzle.) described themselves as less square than Cafepress but really they are not. Keep the videos coming Cafepress.

Cafepress have again been spotted doing TV err… spots. I don’t live in the US so I haven’t seen them but I imagine they are shortened down versions of these three videos below. They are connected to the Ungiftables web site that Cafepress created and that I mentioned a few days ago. I prefer the website to the videos but I thought I would share these with you just in case.

Jake and Amir

I have just finished watching all the Jake and Amir videos. I know. I am a little late jumping on there but I just came across them a couple of weeks ago. They are funny. Amir is perfectly believable and Jake is the perfect foil for his witless behavior. I recommend checking them out. They even have their own Jake and Amir t-shirts which are available at Busted Tees. (Jake and Amir work for College Humor.) They are scary good, as tight as shit. I mean who wouldn’t look phat in one of these.

I came across this pretty cool video of Spreadshirt’s printing techniques for those who are interested. Spreadshirt have a pretty good reputation regarding print quality and this video gives some reasons for this. (More info…)

Nordstrom Pulls Offensive T-Shirt

After receiving a complaint from an upset customer Nordstrom removed the offending t-shirt and several others from the Affliction brand from their shelves. The image on the t-shirt depicts a rather hideous vision of Mary and the baby Christ. To be honest I am not all that offended by the picture but I can see why some would be and I totally understand this woman’s reaction to what she saw. You can see a video below.

Wear a Tuxedo on Election Day

Cafepress have just released a video telling you not to wear your political t-shirts and flair to the polling booths. They are trying to make your that your vote gets counted as in some parts of the county wearing your flair may be considered electioneering and you will get turned away. I am not American but I urge you to vote if you are.

I never expected to hear Cafepress tell you not to wear their products but it makes sense and even makes you smile. “Choose something safe to wear, like a button-down or a nice tuxedo.” Perhaps they mean something like this tuxedo t-shirt from Vintage Cotton.

I saw this video or one like it a while ago but for those of you haven’t this video shows you how to create a great tool for folding t-shirts. Not quite as cool as the Japanese folding t-shirts videos but pretty cool all the same.

Potentially Irritating T-Shirts

If you are one of those people who get irritated by people who love drumming on everything you are totally going to hate this t-shirt. This t-shirt’s design hides a functional battery operated drum kit so those finger drummers can get more range. The drum kit has seven distinct drums that are all playable. This is sold by ThinkGeek T-Shirts and makes me think that it is finally time to change their name to BeBigGeek.com. It costs $29.99, batteries not included. Below you can check out a video of it in action.

Even if I was a drumming fanatic I’m not sure I would want to have a battery operated t-shirt. And from someone who has put his own passport in the washing machine twice I don’t know how long this t-shirt would last.
