Awesome upside down GAP
I admit that I am a GAP fan. Well, I like GAP during the sales and my little girl wears a lot of GAP. I don’t wear so much myself but I have a few pairs of shorts and jeans. Anyway this is a cool video promoting some new money back system.
T-Shirt War Video
OK, so most of you have probably seen this already but for the select few who may have missed it here is a pretty cool stop motion video that uses t-shirts to tell a story.
You can buy the actual t-shirts that were worn in the video (Rhett and Link’s sweat is free) or you can get a print on demand version. Read how to order your T-Shirt War t-shirts on Rhett and Link’s web site.
Here is a behind the scenes look at the making of this video.
Afro Samurai Tshirts from Jinks

I haven’t actually seen this movie which is probably rare for someone in my situation. I mean I live in Japan and am a fan of Samuel L. Jackson. On the other hand I am not really into anime and haven’t had a whole lot of free time recently so when I watch a movie it will be live action.
I think this movie got mixed reviews but I am sure it will get cult status at some point if it hasn’t already.
Anyway, this is a tshirt blog, not a blog about movies I haven’t watched yet (now that’s an interesting idea) so I am here to tell you that Jinks are selling four new Afro Samurai t-shirts and they are not bad at all. In about 20 years they may even be the epitome of retro cool but who knows. Check them out and let me know what you think of them below. You might as well tell us what you think about the AFRO Samurai movies too. Convince me to watch them!
Shop Online! It’s safer.
Most of the t-shirts reviewed here are for online shops but I know that even today some people are wary of shopping online as they are worried about the dangers of the internet but this video shows how dangerous it can be shopping in a bricks and mortar store. You may never go out again.
It seems to be some viral marketing attempt by German online retailer Jungstil.
ShirtFight Round 4
Last week the theme of ShirtFight was El Presidente’s Birthday and I had an idea for it myself but no time (and possibly to talent) to execute it. I was going to create a picture of a luche libre robot about to jump off the corner ropes of the wrestling ring. Yeah, probably beyond me. Anyhoo, the winner was Greg Abbot with his imaginative illustration, equally unimaginatively titled El Presidente’s Birthday. Actually the illustration was inspired by the imagination of El Presidente himself. You can check it out below. It is a little strange there was no pic of El Presidente himself wearing it.
It’s on sale at the moment for only $15. I guess it will go up to $21 soon so don’t wait around.
The new ShirtFight theme has been launched and it is a sweet one. I hope it will inspire some great designs as the last one did. The theme is subliminal and you are encouraged to use glow-in-the-dark ink and discouraged from using text or images of penises in the design. Check out the video below. $500 prize for the winner.
Nerdy Shirts Contest and Sale
About a week ago or so Nerdy Shirts announced that they are holding a contest in which all you have to do is upload a video with “http://nerdyshirts.com” as the first text in the video description to receive a free t-shirt. One t-shirt per person per challenge. You can read more here. Best video as chosen by Nerdy Shirts will receive $100 gift voucher. It is a pretty cool attempt at viral marketing by Nerdy Shirts but it may not be so successful as I couldn’t find any of the videos on youtube. Maybe I should take out my new Nikon D90 to make a little high def video for them.
The current challenge is “I love NerdyShirts!” You can simply say that or you can elaborate. It’s up to you! Remember, the more crazy/fun/weird the video the better.
I also received an email from them today telling me that they are having a pretty cool sale this week where you will be able to get your hands on a 4 different $4.99 t-shirts every day. Today’s offerings you can see below. They are apparently clearing out some stock.
Springleap Video Interview
Our friends at Pop Culture Tees recently posted about this video interview with Eran from Springleap. I have mentioned Springleap before a few times as you might remember. They are a South Africa based t-shirt competition site. They seem like a nice bunch of people and it is nice to what they look like and how they are thinking. From the video and as they have mentioned many times, winning is not just about money at Springleap, it is about exposure. Watch the video to find out how winning at Springleap can help your career.
As well as the above interview with From the Couch there is also a video showing us around the Springleap offices and introducing us to the staff. Pretty cool and much shorter than the interview so you are less likely to fall asleep.
Some of you may also remember my criticism of Springleap’s prizes and mentioning the fact that I hadn’t received all of them yet. Since then the system has changes and they are awarding prizes of about $750 with no runners up to receive the pathetic prizes like I received. Well done Springleap!
I would also like to mention that I never received the hand-drawn poster of my design nor have I received any royalties from sales of my design. In a way I have been waiting over 6 months for that poster so I guess they some more work to do.
Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt
I often thought that it would be nice to have a soundtrack. I guess the idea sprang from watching too many movies and getting my first Walkman. A Walkman (ipod for cassettes for those who are too young to remember) is like a soundtrack except only you can hear it. Also it isn’t that easy to change the tracks. I wanted something more. Music that followed me and reflected my mood at every turn. Like in some Hollywood movies. Well, ThinkGeek have come up with something that is not really close to that dream but it is a bit of fun. They have produced a soundtrack shirt that is basically a t-shirt with a speaker that can play music from its own player or other devices if you connnect them.

I think the tee is stylish enough even though I don’t think I’d wear a speaker on my chest. It is quite a fun idea though and I know its a bit late but it would make a great gift at this time of the year. Below is a video that I guess the guys at ThinkGeek put together to promote the t-shirt.
ThinkGeek do come up with some interesting t-shirts such as a chain mail t-shirt and an Electronic Drum Kit t-shirt. The T-Shirt Review also recently talked about a musical shirt tutorial. I wonder what’s next!
They cost $39.99 (batteries not included).
Luis Guzman in Zazzle Obama Tee
Filed under: Celebrity, Political T-Shirts, Video, Zazzle
I came across this video on Joost yesterday. I think it must be really cool to get your t-shirt worn by a celebrity. I know Luis Guzman is not exactly an A-List celebrity but he is one fine actor and I would be happy if he were wearing one of my tees. Click on the image above to buy it at the Zazzle store. I think it is also available at Cafepress but I couldn’t find it. Below is the video from Joost where celebrities including Guzman talk about bad Christmas gifts.
Another Cafepress Video
It’s like Cafepress is Microsoft and the Ungiftables are the Jerry Seinfeld/Bill Gates commercial. They are slowly winning me over. Recently another POD (I’ll tell all in a later post but no, it’s not Zazzle.) described themselves as less square than Cafepress but really they are not. Keep the videos coming Cafepress.
