Poll: Should Zazzle censor Obama Psalm 109:8 T-Shirt
Zazzle have just announced they won’t be allowing users to sell goods connecting President Barack Obama to Psalm 109:8. Here is an excerpt from their announcement:
after great thought that we have determined that these products, in the context of the full text of Psalm 109, may be interpreted in such a way as to suggest physical harm to the President of the United States. In deference to the Office of the President of the United States, and in accordance with federal law prohibiting the making of threats against the physical wellbeing of the President of the United States, Zazzle has therefore determined that these products are in violation of the Zazzle User Agreement and not appropriate for inclusion in the Zazzle Marketplace. We have begun efforts to remove them from our website, and we will be vigilant to the publication of similar products moving forward.
What do you think?

Obamao T-Shirts Banned in China
Chinese t-shirt designer created a Obama t-shirt that combined the face of President Barack

Banned in China Oba Mao t-shirts
Obama with the uniform and classic image of Chairman Mao but when Obama went to China the Chinese authorities shut it down. Some say that they didn’t want Obama depicted as a Communist. (I’m sure FOX News are having a field day with it. The may also be happy about their president’s effigy being burned.)
I have a feeling that Obama wouldn’t mind and would be more pissed off by the fact that there are serious freedom of speech issues in China that selling tees with his mug on them.
Retro Campaigns goes Vintage
It’s been a while since I featured Retro Campaigns on the T-Shirt Review but they have just released three new tees and they are doozies. They have broken away from their original style and brought some nice vintage style designs to the field and these designs are complimented by their choice of shirts. For the latest shirts they are using Alternative Apparel’s destroyed tees. They just ooze vintage chic. Check out the closeup below.

Retro Campaigns use Alternative Apparel destroyed tees
The tees at Retro Campaigns are political and they even provide a lot of background information about the featured politicians but these tees can be worn by anyone. It doesn’t matter if you are Republican, Democrat, Communist, Socialist or independant…
In fact for the new tees I suspect that most people won’t even check what’s printed on them. They will just ask where can I get me one of them there shirts. And the answer is: at Retro Campaigns – the coolest political tee store on the web and quite possibly the planet.
See previous posts (one, two and three) for more information about Retro Campaigns.
T-Shirt Hell: Political Again
During the American presidential election of 2008 I told you about T-Shirt Hell’s political t-shirts. Well, it seems they are dipping their toes in that area again with a pretty funny stab at the democrats. I think the democrats would not only enjoy this tee too though but they may agree with the sentiments.
Review: Rolling Stone Obama T-Shirt
Back in January I mentioned that Cafepress in collaboration with Rolling Stone were selling a limited edition Barack Obama inauguration t-shirt. These t-shirts are not the regular Cafepress t-shirts but rather a special fulfilment item for Rolling Stone. They were heavily promoted for a while and of course they are pretty cool. I decided to order a couple, one for the Mrs. and one for me.

Limited Edition Rolling Stone Obama Inauguration T-Shirt at Cafepress
They arrived a while ago but I haven’t had time to post about them until now. To be honest I should be spending this evening doing something else as tonight is a deadline for some web design I am doing and tomorrow is a deadline some writing I have to do so I’ll keep it brief.

Rock the Vote and Cafepress logos
The shirts are a very light material and actually look just as they do in the promotion pictures on the Cafepress web site. The color of the t-shirt is perfect and just the type of thing that I like to wear. My wife was also happy with the t-shirt and its fit. We were so impressed with them actually that we were going to buy another couple to keep for when these wear out but when I went back to check they were no longer for sale. Well, they did say limited edition. The only criticism I have about the t-shirts is the big double logo of Rock the Vote and Cafepress on the back. Still, that won’t stop me from wearing it.
44 Cent Obama T-Shirt – True
In celebration of the inauguration of Barack Obama, Vintage Cotton is selling a t-shirt for just 44 cents. For those who don’t know the significance of the price, Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States of America. The t-shirt is nothing special but it is very wearable. They are limited to one per customer.
Rolling Stone Obama Inauguration T-Shirt
Just head over to Cafepress and you can quickly see that they are promoting a limited edition Rolling Stone Collection Obama Inauguration t-shirt which is being sold in the Rock the Vote Cafepress store. It’s a pretty nice shirt with a slick design. Unlike most Cafepress designs this is not available on a host of items from mugs to clocks to hoodies. It is only available on a women’s gray tee and a men’s gray tee. Also unlike the other items for sale at Cafepress the print area is very high on the shirt. It almost touches the neck. There is also a printed tag inside the back of the tee which you can see below.

Printed Tag on Rolling Stone Obama Inauguration T-Shirt
I do like those printed tags. Another thing to notice is the price tag. It is only $15. The base price for a dark gray tee like this for regular shopkeepers at Cafepress is $18.99. I think you could add another $2 for the back print too. So, for a Cafepress t-shirt this is great value.

They are also offering a free Inauguration Cap for everybody who purchases one of these t-shirts while also spending $50 or more. Unfortunately it is not very clear whether you have to purchase $50 worth of Inauguration tees, or perhaps from the Rock the Vote store, or maybe even just from Cafepress. If you purchase one let us know how it went. Below are conditions for the free cap which looks more like a hat.
*Free Inauguration Cap with purchase of the Rolling Stone Commemorative T-shirt and an order of $50 or more, excluding shipping charges and applicable sales tax. Limit one per qualifying order while supplies last. No coupon code required. This offer may change, be modified or cancelled at anytime without notice. Free Inauguration Cap cannot be returned for credit, redeemed for cash or exchanged.
Tom Burns loves to party
Filed under: Funny Stuff, Political T-Shirts, Threadless
Again, over at Loiter I noticed that Tom Burns has added to his portfolio. One of his t-shirts that I have mentioned a couple of times on The T-Shirt Review is the Communist Party at Threadless. This is a pretty cool tee and probably one of the most reprinted shirts at Threadless. I knew that their was another version over at Loiter but when I went there today I noticed that there were two new part t-shirts: the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. They are both pretty sweet too. Anyway, to get your hands on one of these t-shirts just click on the image to go to their stores.
Luis Guzman in Zazzle Obama Tee
Filed under: Celebrity, Political T-Shirts, Video, Zazzle
I came across this video on Joost yesterday. I think it must be really cool to get your t-shirt worn by a celebrity. I know Luis Guzman is not exactly an A-List celebrity but he is one fine actor and I would be happy if he were wearing one of my tees. Click on the image above to buy it at the Zazzle store. I think it is also available at Cafepress but I couldn’t find it. Below is the video from Joost where celebrities including Guzman talk about bad Christmas gifts.
The Washington Post on Cafepress
Sales of pro-Obama t-shirts have been so great this past year that I guess they even be comparable to sales of anti-Bush t-shirts in the past 8 years or so. It’s good to dwell on positivity though. In Cafepress the Washington Post have a shop where, on top of some pretty crap t-shirts, you can actually get your hands on a newspaper, a Washington Post commemorative newspaper. It is, of course, commemorating Barack Obama’s victorious election campaign.
Commemorative Edition Paper includes front section and election section from the paper published 11/05/08. Be a part of history with this limited edition Washington Post newspaper today.
It costs $9.95 for the paper or you can get a t-shirt with the front page printed on it. I’m guessing that Cafepress don’t actually print the newspaper but just arrange the sale and shipping. It makes me wonder what other non-standard items you can get through these PODs like Cafepress and Zazzle. If you know of any please leave a comment below.
