Art no War Threadless Bestee of the Month
I missed this sweet tee when it came out first, probably because you have to look closely to appreciate it. Soldiers with guitars walking away from a napalm background. Very cool. This is a first print at Threadless for Noah Benjamin but I have a feeling we will be seeing more of this guy.
Tuba Hero T-Shirt Back at T-Shirt Hell
I guess these tees are back for the holidays and I imagine they sell pretty well. Once upon a time they had their own dedicated site but now they are a simple page on the main T-Shirt Hell website. Anyway, they are not a new idea and there are similar ideas all over the web but these are done really well so if you want a band geek hero t-shirt for yourself or want to get your holiday shopping out of the way early you might as well grab a couple of these while they are still for sale.

All we need is a hoodie
Winter’s a comin’ in many parts of the world so you are going to see more and more hoodies and this is a pretty sweet one from laFraise. It would be nice to see this design on a tshirt too but what are you gonna do. Still at €39 it is a pretty good deal.
k-os T-Shirt Design Contest
I know, it’s hard to believe that there are t-shirt design contests for musicians that are nor done by Design by Humans but it seems that k-os has decided to leave out the middle man. Perhaps they really want the designs to be created by fans rather than just by people who like designing t-shirts. Who knows. Anyway, prizes are pretty cool as you can see below.

Lil Wayne T-Shirts at DBH
Filed under: Band T-Shirts, Competitions, Design by Humans, Music
Design by Humans announced the winners of the Lil Wayne t-shirt design contest and I’m pretty impressed with the results and they were much more well-received than the winners of the Kings of Leon and Quicksilver design contests. You can check out the winners below.
I like the 4th place winner the best. I think it is a great fan t-shirt and if I were a teen-aged fan of Lil Wayne I would probably love to have this one. The first place winner though, is quite a stunning piece. The complexity of it reminds me of the Bold is Beautiful t-shirt by jfinley. I would say that this type of design is a screen-printers nightmare.
Win a U2 T-Shirt
I know, I know. I have been slacking off recently but I just haven’t had the time to post here. Deadlines suck but Iam almost there and you can soon expect me to be back posting about t-shirts at my regular pace. I came across this little contest which is great for U2 fans and lovers of retro rock tees.
In celebration of the release of a new song by XFM London they are giving away five retro “Under a Blood Red Sky” t-shirts. Just answer the question and pop in your details for a chance to win.
T-Shirts – Batteries Not Included
I have posted about various t-shirts that require batteries (here, here and here) and I have just come across a shop selling tees with a graphic equalizer like function. The designs on these tees react to the sounds around them making the wearer appear to be a total douche bag. They are a bit of fun though. Most of them are spoofs and/or probable copyright infringements but what do I know. Maybe they are legally licensed. Below is a selection from the store. They are all $45 and available from Jetsobox which appears to be based in Asia. you can also check out videos of the various tees reacting to the music.
So when you are going clubbing in one of these babies don’t forget your batteries. Your dignity on the other hand you will leave at home.
It’s Britney Bitch!
Filed under: Band T-Shirts, Celebrity, Music, Zazzle
I noticed a few days ago that a Britney Spears calendar (official) had appeared on Zazzle. Britney Spears, for all her faults, is a huge star, a pop icon so I think Zazzle did well to get the opportunity to hock her official goods to her legions of fans. When I checked out Britney Spears’ Gallery at Zazzle though I found that there was only one item – the calendar. I guess it will sell well but t-shirts and other merchandise would have a more lasting appeal. Perhaps more merchandise will be added at a later date.
Anyway, finding Britney prompted me to get off my ass and tell people about the other music artists that have been selling their official merchandise on Zazzle. I think before that Zazzle spent a lot of resources trying to attract famous names and brands and as far as I can see they have been pretty successful in their endeavor. You can click on the images below to be taken to the artist’s stores at Zazzle. I didn’t include all the artists and new artists are probably added to the line up on a regular basis so if you are very curious you can check out the music page at Zazzle. If you are a musician you should think about using Zazzle as a means to promote your band and make a little dosh too.
