fly!! by tinhiati at DBH
Two days ago the Shirt of the Day at Design by Humans was a great piece by a designer called tinhiati. Recently the shirts that have been chosen at Design by Humans have been pretty uncool, in our opinion. I don’t mean to offend the designers but a lot of the selections look like the type of top that is popular with middle-aged ladies in Japan. I live in Japan and am not a middle-aged lady and don’t really want my fashion to be compared to theirs. This design on the other hand would definitely fly with the younger generation of Japanese folk and with me too, the not so young ex-pat.
The simple coloring of the shirt impressed me and the use of white space is good too. recently I feel that the DBH designs are covering most of the shirt just because they can. A lot of the designs would have looked much better if they had been the traditional A4 chest design. The colors too. Just because they are available doesn’t mean you have to use them.
